Katie Carmany teaches sophomore English, AP Language for juniors, and AVID at Bullard High School in Fresno, CA. She has been at Bullard for three years. She started her teaching career at Hoover High School before moving to Bullard a year and a half later. Katie became a teacher because she wanted to be involved in the lives of high school teenagers. The funniest question a student ever asked her was, "Mrs. Carmany, can I go outside and wring out my shorts?"
Katie love to drink wine, go to wine festivals, and visit areas of California like Paso Robles, which have great wineries. In weather as hot as this in July in Fresno, it's almost too hot to drink.
Katie grew up here in Fresno. She is married with two adorable kiddos, Tyler and Charlotte. Tigger, an orange Persian, and Rawley, a shepherd mix, round out the family. John and Katie will be married four years on July 7.
Katie enjoys logic and role play video and computer games in her spare time. British suspense television is her favorite kind of television - Luther, and Masterpiece Mystery: Sherlock Holmes are now in her Netflix instant queue. If she could take a trip anywhere, she would go to Turtle Island because it's warm, beautiful, with few people and would be a total escape from technology.
